Receipt of an Unclaimed Property Letter

Why is Abandoned Property Services LLC ("APSLLC ") contacting me when another company is possibly holding property (i.e., funds or monies) due me?

The letter represents the holder's final attempt in reuniting you with these funds prior to the monies being reported to the states as "unclaimed property," as required by law. APSLLC handles and processes all owner responses and inquiries for holders that are our clients.

Will I be charged a fee for this service?

No, there is no fee associated with claiming the funds.

Is this a scam?

No. APSLLC is not asking for any personal/confidential information. APSLLC is giving you an opportunity to claim funds that may be owed to you. If you do not feel comfortable claiming the funds represented in the letter at this time, you can later claim the funds directly from the state noted on the letter. What do I do if I am not the person referenced on the letter?

If you are not the person indicated on the letter, the holder likely has an incorrect or out of date address for the rightful owner. You may disregard the letter you received.

What does this pertain to in the first place?

We receive limited information from the holder regarding these records. All information we received has been provided to you in the letter. To this end, we are unable to provide further information regarding the referenced property.

I have yet to receive my replacement check. What should I do?

If you submitted your completed letter prior to the response deadline cited in the letter, the holder is in the process of issuing you a replacement check. Please allow up to 12 weeks from the response deadline for the replacement check to be reissued. If it has already been longer than 12 weeks, you may contact us at letters@apsescheat.net or (562) 204-6312. The money is owed to our company. Who completes and signs the letter?

Any representative, who is authorized by the company, may claim the funds. This is typically an officer of the company.

I no longer live at the address on the letter. Can my replacement check be mailed to my new address?

Please indicate the updated address on your response letter and the replacement check will be mailed accordingly. However, further address updates beyond this must be handled with the holder directly.
